Christ engaging community
We are people of faith that find their light, life and love in God through Jesus Christ in the strength of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus’ death and rising to new life has the power to change lives and transform communities. Christ asks us to be incarnational. This means we should be representatives of Jesus, living like Him in our communities. By doing this, we hope to bring more people into relationship with Him so that their lives might be transformed.
We currently bring Christ to the community through:
- Each time the Waters’ Edge @ Googong leadership team meet, we start with a short reflection on a passage of the Bible. Currently we are reflecting on the life of Jesus and how this changes the way we think and act.
- Waters’ Edge @ Home: This group is taking a look at a variety of topics relevant to our fast-paced life in the 21st century. The discussion is animated as we explore a different story reach week and attempt to place ourselves in the scene of action. Everyone is able to contribute, no viewpoint is discounted. A great place to explore the bible for the first time.
- Waters’ Edge @ The Cafe: A short, family friendly service held at 5pm – 6pm on the first Sunday of the month in the Yellow Belly Cafe.
- Family Church @ Waters’ Edge: This is a new venture in 2018 and is an all-age service with simple songs, craft and activities for the children and space for conversation those less inclined to play with glue! 10am – 10:45am on the third Sunday of the month in Yumalundi, at The Anglican School Googong.
